Our Shared Funding Missionaries

FGT Family Church is supporting the following missionaries:

Mark & Kim Steinfield - Armenia
Hector & Ruth Aragon - Quatemala
Gary and Marvelyn Schell - Pan African Christian College, Zimbabwe

Our main objective will be to become connected to each of these missionaries through their visits to FGT family church, presentations to the congregation, correspondence, prayer requests, special needs, sharing of successes and difficulties and sharing their family's needs.
Through this we know that our overall support, both funding and moral support will become more real and in turn lead to encouragement and growth in these ministries.

Mark, Kim, Madeleine & Alyssa Steinfield

Greetings from Vanadzor, Armenia.
  • The Steinfields are living in the northern Armenian city of Vanadzor where they are working with local church pastors to train leaders, church planters and missionaries to head into the surrounding Muslim nations. At the Ararat School of the Bible, they strive to disciple students in the Bible, doctrine and practical ministry courses. Currently, they are charting the course to plant churches in needy areas in Armenia and looking into opportunities to send missionaries to Turkey and Iran. Kim is forming a group of women leaders to make an impact on the church.

  •  Prayer Focus:
Please pray for the Steinfields as they rejoice and adjust to now having in addition to Alyssa the new arrival of Madeleine. We pray for health and much happiness.
Pray for the students at Ararat School of the Bible and for their families. Many of them make huge sacrifices to attend. The next Bible School session will begin in September.
Intercede for the surrounding Muslim nations of Turkey and Iran and ask the Lord to open the doors to plant churches and to send harvesters into the fields of Islam.

Hector & Ruth Aragon

Hector & Ruth Raquel, Ruth, Sara
Home District: Western Ontario
Country of Service: Guatemala

The Aragons are actively involved in evangelism and visitation work for ChildCARE Plus (CCP) since January 1997. The program is presently benefiting 15 communities in Guatemala with a school and a local church in each, with an enrolment of more than 3,500 children. Hector works with the local pastor, visiting the parents of sponsored children, encouraging them to receive Christ, attend church and to continue sending their kids to school.

They work with Alan and Pauline Slater on the "The William Cornelius Vocational Training Centre" project, which will provide technical studies to CCP graduates.

They are continually taking 'Short Missions Teams' from Canada to do ministry on the streets, public schools and hospitals and 'Task Force Teams' to build the Training Centre, fix or remodel ChildCare Plus Schools and work on new edifices for developing Local Assemblies. Hector also engages in teaching and preaching in churches and gatherings of pastors and evangelists.

Ministry Goals for next year

- Translate, print and promote a Sunday School Certificate Program.
- Train Pastors and their leaders with a new translated, PAOC author, Discipleship material.
- Help the CCP schools close the three year gap for preparing students for the Training Center.
- Promote the need for more sponsors.
- Visit all the parents of sponsored children.

 Prayer Focus:
Pray for divine guidance and strength for Hector as he makes use of every opportunity available to share the Good News to the people of Guatemala.
Pray for traveling mercies on our daily commuting and also when teams are there.
Pray especially for their work with local pastors and for salvation of parents with children involved in the CCP program, and that their children will be fully equipped for the ministry God has for them. They would like to see the schools being light and salt in the areas they are in.
Pray that the Lord will lead the Aragons to specific areas of ministry as there are so many needs in the schools, national pastors and churches.
